If this happens again it’s going to become a real farce. First there was this story about the Romney ad with Jack Gilchrist of Gilchrist Metal Fabricating who indignantly tells Pres. Obama how he and his family built their business. As it turns out they received a lot of money from the government.
Now we have Sher Valenzuela at the Republican convention with the same indignation and the same government assistance contradicting it. A parody website has gone up in response.
I’m beginning to wonder if there is a single “job creator” in the country who has not received some kind of direct government assistance. And if there is, why can’t the Republicans find that person instead of looking stupid by putting up the recipient of government assistance to inveigh against the evils of government assistance.
Then again maybe it doesn’t matter. A good story is a good story even if it’s a lie.
